CERTIFICATION: We now offer our own 1ProPhoto.Com certification for Phase One Capture 1 Pro software*.
This certification has been created by us and is not currently Phase One authorized.
After three years of providing this workshop we believe that what we offer is far superior to other certification offerings. Unlike other courses we will not certify you just because you sat down in front of a computer for 3 hours and looked at the software. Our time tested format for teaching this course offers plenty of time for everyone to assimilate the vast amount of information provided.
Our certification is based on the level of
competency you display when using Capture 1 Pro software during our live capture setting and by displaying a high level of competency in using the Phase One digital backs on multiple medium format cameras and Canon DSLR cameras demonstrated during the course.
Registration and payment for this course does not guarantee your certification; no matter how much we like you or how long we've known you.
Being a qualified Digital Technician comes over time (just like being a first assistant) and has nothing to do with a piece of paper.
We are sorry if this rubs some of you the wrong way, but those that have taken our workshops have gone on to become some of the most sought after digital techs in the country, and we will not lower our standards.

Everyone that attends and is listed on either our assistants or Digital tech DB will be marked as having attended our 2 day Digital Tech workshop.

I have worked with "Certified Digital Techs" and can honestly say that some of them should not be out there.
If I hear about you from "reputable sources" I WILL recommend you on our web sites.

Check out the about our workshops in the Phase One newsletter.

Great workshop. Thanks for the booklet and keep up the good work!  - Anonymous comment

Workshop was great, as were you guys. Thanks...  - Anonymous comment

This is the best digital workshop I have ever taken. Very well put together, great presentation, real world experiences and information, and the fact that you provide all of the equipment just blows away any other workshop out there. Your certainly setting the bar very high for others when it comes to training.  - Anonymous comment

I learned more in 2 days than I ever did in a semester long college course; best investment in my education yet... and everybody was so friendly! I love you guys! Great to be in a real studio too, you really feel like you are in the right place to learn everything. Colleges could learn a lot from you guys, and could use more classes that teach real world photo and applications we'll actually use.... you should consider pitching your course to a few schools. :)   - Anonymous comment

Seriously the best money I've spent on my education. Thank you all for the hard work! If we meet again, drinks on me.  - Anonymous comment

The instructors were entertaining and educational. The class' pace was good. The instructors shared their experiences as photographers, techs, and assistants; and this was perhaps the most valuable part of the class.  - Anonymous comment

The workshop was worth every penny and I definitely recommend it. Very friendly atmosphere, thorough and articulate instruction and materials, great personal attention to boot. Thank you PhotoAssistant.net!   - Anonymous comment

Excellent workshop. Digital backs are so expensive and prohibitive to emerging professionals and assistants that it was great to experience them inside-out in this class. Instructor was very candid and friendly. Keep up the good work James. - Anonymous comment

Excellent workshop! I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in top-tier digital photography. - Anonymous comment

James, an absolutely great course. You guys should take it on the road. - Anonymous comment

Much gratitude to James, fantastic!! you were informative, challenging and encouraging. your tremendously warm demeanors supported the learning. - Anonymous comment

Thank you for offering this course. The resources you provided were amazing! The leaf course, in comparison, does not provide laptops (you must bring your own). Nor does the leaf course offer the in-studio test at the end, which I think is a great idea. - Anonymous comment

I think that this was the best workshop I have ever taken. I have taken other C1 Pro and Leaf workshops and this one was the best of all. More information was covered and then any other. It was also great to have the hand book to take home. - Anonymous comment

This was a great workshop. I can tell that a lot of hard work went into putting it together and I learned a ton. A great instructor, he knows his stuff very well and he has very good communication skills. Because there is so much to learn in two days I wouldn't have minded starting an hour earlier, after all most of us are already assisting and we are used to long days and early call times. The hands on photo shoot simulation was essential. Overall this was a great experience. I think you guys should go on tour. Thank you James. - Anonymous comment

This was great. It really helped fill in the holes technology wise, and I've taken other workshops. I work with a lot of photographers who prefer to work as their own techs and want an assistant with digital knowledge, and have had limited experience with the Phase One backs. I had only worked with the software a few times, just bumbling along until it seemed to work. This made it a lot easier, and I feel much more confident.  - Anonymous comment

This was a very informational experience for me well worth the price of admission, I will definitely recommend it to others. Keep up the good work.  - Anonymous comment

James I think that overall you guys covered everything you there is to cover. I think that the most valuable part of workshop besides the software training is actually the hands on with the H1, RZ, and the Hassi. I think that you did a great job in trying to give everyone a live test to actually make them think and work on the spot. Overall, I was very impressed and it was everything I expected. Thanks.  - Anonymous comment

All and all it was a great class. I took the {Co. name edited} course, which was horrible. All they do is charge $375 to read off the manual and send you on your way. Waste of money......
It was great to hear from an actual assistant, and the real experiences that go on... The instructor was fantastic and very personable....
Thanks Guys!!!!   - Anonymous comment

What James has created is great.
There is currently nothing like this anywhere in the U.S. No one else is letting you use the cameras and the software at the same time.
Again James/NYC. has his finger on the pulse of the industry and sets the standard.  - Anonymous comment
