Hello Photographers, Photo Assistants & Digital Techs.
Probably the best part
of running my web sites is the opportunities I've
had to meet so many great people. One of these
people is a young photographer that has become a
great friend over the last 6 years.
A week before Christmas my friend James went to see his doctor for a cold
that would not go away. He was diagnosed with leukemia and 3 hours later he was in the hospital
and began receiving his first round of chemo therapy.
While you'd never know
it to look at him during that time that first round
lead to the need for a second round of chemo.
James was finally
allowed to go home in time for last weekends super
bowel. After 2 months of hospital food, a serving of
Atomic wings were a nice change of pace.
But now the search goes
on for a suitable stem cell donor.
Presently there
are 13 possible matches.
This sounds positive
until you realize that the odds of anyone of those
possible donor matches being an acceptable match to
his blood type are somewhere around 1 in 85,000
Now this would be great odds if you were playing the lottery or
power ball; but are pretty crappy when your life is
dependant on that single exact match.
As competitive as the
photo industry can be, it is also one that I have
seen rise to the occasion.
This is one of those
occasions
I ask everyone reading
this to consider taking a few moments and signing up
for the marrow donors registry at this link:
http://www.marrow.org
It costs you nothing
even if you are found to be a match, and you could
at some point save a life.
Maybe that of a family member or
someone you know or care about.
Thanks

A number
of people clicked through and tried to upload
images, but found problems with the upload script.
That code has been completely re-written and is now
fully functional on all web browsers.
If you haven't seen it yet please click through to check it out and consider submitting your images.
The response to the last issue was so great that his year it will become a quarterly.
In this
next issue I will be presenting, streaming video
files for those that have been shooting video with
their DSLR's, this as well as our usual collection of great photographic images.
TruceMag.Com is a
place to display images that are left of center
and pushes the creative envelope.
TruceMag.Com does
not censor, and unlike some print and online magazines:
TruceMag.Com
is not images by friends or friends of friends, just really good images.

If you have a job listing for an assistant, Studio manager, or digital tech email the complete details to me and I will email it out to all of those in my databases'.
So far this has worked out very well for a number of photographers and production companies.
Also if you have an assistant or digital tech that you have worked with that was outstanding please let me know.
This will help those on the database get closer to being recommended. Of course you can also send me an email regarding those
that suck and I can gently tell them to get there act together or remove them from the database. |
